Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ to clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ on Eid 2016
Salman Khan and SRK are all set to fight it out at the box-office with their respective films "Sultan" and "Raees" slated to release on Eid 2016.
There's been an ongoing feud between Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan for quite some time. After hugging it out at an Iftar party last year and again this year, showing that they are on good terms, it looks like they continue to clash when it comes to being number one at the box office.
Here's good news for all Salman Khan fans. Salman Khan's upcoming movie 'Sultan' has booked next year's Eid for its release.
"So Here is finally @BeingSalmanKhan in as 'Sultan' EID 2016," the director tweeted. #SultanEid2016 youtu.be/WbGgqKatP9w #YRFBuzz
The teaser opens with a quote from the man himself, "Wrestling is not a sport. It's about fighting what lies within," and then announces the release date – Eid 2016.
Salman is reportedly playing a wrestler while SRK will be seen romancing Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in the action thriller film, "Raees." The film is directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidwani and Gauri Khan.
Produced by Aditya Chopra and written-directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, "Sultan" will commence shooting in November and will
release on Eid 2016. The movie has been in news for its female lead since it was rejected first by Deepika Padukone and then Kangana Ranaut.
Rumours are that Kriti Sanon has been finalised for the lead role.
Despite going head-to-head at the box office, the two Khans have burried the hatchet after a big fight a few years back. Salman proved that there were no hard feelings between the two of them by following SRK on Twitter, proving that they are now friends.
Salman expressed to his followers that he wasn't going to tolerate any abuse against SRK and followed him to prove that they are on good terms.
It's not the first time that the 'Karan Arjun' stars are clashing at the box office. 'Don' and 'Jaaneman' had released on the Diwali of 2006.
Generally, the Khans, whose films are big ticket events, avoid releasing their films on the same date with Salman preferring Eid, Shah Rukh Diwali and Aamir for Christmas.
"Shahrukh n amir hate it [too]. N for my fans don't let me dwn. Srk n amir khan r my friends toh buss. Bhad mein gaya No 1,2,3. Samjhe kya?" tweeted Salman Khan.
